Holmes County State Park

Location: 5369 State Park Road, Durant, MS 39063

Information: Located just about an hour from Jackson MS, Holmes County State Park offers an abundance of outdoor activities among the picturesque deep woods of central Mississippi. Holmes County features a number of campsites and fishing along English Lake and Odum Lake. Visitors to Holmes County State Park will get a chance to enjoy the gorgeous hardwood forests all year round, with beautifully changing vistas.

Natchez State Park

Information: Located just over an hour from Jackson MS is Natchez State Park. Natchez State Park is a great destination for nature lovers and history lovers alike. Just ten miles from historic Natchez, MS, Natchez State Park, which is located right on the Mississippi river offers ample camping, boating, fishing, and other activities. Leroy Percy State Park

Location: 1400 Hwy 12 W, Hollandale, MS 38748

Information: Located just under two hours from Jackson, Leroy Percy State Park is a great day trip, or perfect for a weekend of camping. As Mississippi’s oldest state park, Leroy percy features gorgeous artesian springs, acres of cypress trees and giant oaks dripping with Spanish moss, and a full wildlife management area. Seasonal hunting is also available at this park including deer, turkey, squirrel, duck, and dove. Fishing, hiking, and disc golf are also readily accessible at the park.
