Honda Earns 2013 Brand Image Awards – Kelley Blue Book

Be Sociable, Share!

Honda Brand Image Awards from KBBHonda Motor Co. has earned the Best Value Brand, Most Trusted Brand and Best Overall Brand Image Award in the 2013 Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards. The awards are based on the results from over 12,000 New Car shoppers using its Web page to do research. The Kelly Blue Book Brand Image Awards honor the automotive brands that have most successfully captured positive consumer attention.

“Honda was named Best Overall Brand by non-luxury shoppers, which speaks to Honda’s stellar reputation and brand leadership in the minds of consumers,” said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst, Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com. “In addition, Honda was awarded Most Trusted Brand for the second year in a row, and Best Value Brand for the third year running. Receiving consecutive awards in key categories like ‘Trust’ and ‘Value’ demonstrates the positive attributes of the Honda brand continue to resonate with the new-car buying public.”

Kelley Blue Books On Honda Awards

Here is what Kelley Blue Book had to say about Honda when announcing these prestigious awards.

2013 Honda – Best Value Brand

“Affordability, reliability and good resale value are key facets of new-car value, and Honda scores at or near the top in all three, earning from KBB.com visitors another Best Value Brand award.”

2013 Honda – Most Trusted Brand

“This is the second year we’ve asked visitors to name their Most Trusted Brand, and it’s the second year in a row they’ve named Honda. With a reputation that precedes it and vehicles that seemingly never fail to deliver on the promise, Honda is like the perpetual motion machine of brand trust.”

2013 Honda – Brand Image Awards: Best Overall Brand

“We saved the biggest award for last, but after its wins in the Best Value Brand and Most Trusted Brand categories, Honda’s win as Best Overall Brand among non-luxury shoppers hardly comes as a surprise. We admire the refined and reliable vehicles, but also the manner in which Honda promotes itself. You do too, apparently.”

2013 Honda Odyssey and CR-V Awarded “Best Cars For Families”

Best Cars For Family Award Honda Odyssey and CR-V

U.S. News and World Report names the 2013 Honda CR-V “Best Compact SUV for Families” and the 2013 Honda Odyssey “Best Minivan for Families.

“If you’re looking for a top safety-rated, fuel efficient, fun-to-drive family vehicle, you can’t really go wrong with a Honda,” said Mike Accavitti, vice president of national marketing operations, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “Both the CR-V and the Odyssey exemplify ‘family friendly’ with top safety ratings, proven Honda quality and loads of smart features to keep the driver and all passengers comfortable and connected.”

Review From U.S. News and World Report

  • 2013 Honda CR-V: “The Honda CR-V is the 2013 Best Compact SUV for Families because it has the best combination of quality, size and family-friendly features in its class. Inside, reviewers find that the CR-V includes a spacious cargo hold and back seat, as well as comfortable and supportive front seats. Some members of the automotive press write that the CR-V’s interior materials could be nicer, and that the optional navigation system is difficult to use, but most say that if you’re looking for a small family SUV, the 2013 CR-V is certainly worth your consideration. The CR-V’s standard features include a backup camera, which is rare for the class, as well as a USB port and Bluetooth phone and audio streaming. Optional features include a moonroof, navigation, dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery and heated front seats.”
  • 2013 Honda Odyssey: “The Honda Odyssey is the 2013 Best Minivan for Families because it has the best combination of quality, size and family-friendly features in its class. The Odyssey can seat up to eight people and reviewers say almost every seat is comfortable. They also appreciate how much cargo space there is and how easy it is to fold the third row to haul even more stuff. Standard features include a rearview camera, a USB port and Bluetooth. Optional features include a cooling console, navigation, heated seats and a wide-screen rear-seat DVD entertainment system. Reviewers like how much available tech the 2013 Odyssey has, but note that optional features make the Odyssey’s price swell quickly and can overload the dash with buttons and controls.”

The “Best Cars for Families” methodology combines quality, size and family-friendly features into a composite score. Quality is measured using a weighted average of scores from the U.S. News rankings at the time the awards are published. The rankings compare cars on the basis of safety, reliability and a consensus of automotive critics’ opinions. Size is based on a vehicle’s seating capacity and interior space. For family-friendly features, the availability of features deemed to be helpful to families by U.S. News editors is factored in.

Daylight savings time is always a great time to replay a few of our How-To Videos on setting the clock in a Honda. Now, if you are driving a newer Honda with the iMID (Multi-information Display) just go to clock settings follow the on screen instructions.

If your Honda is several years old and does not have an iMID control, the first video below is for you.

The 2010 Honda CR-V has similar clock settings to the 2012 Accord and older Honda vehicles that don’t have a Honda Navigation System or the iMID control.

Honda’s ECO Assist Makes “Top 10 Green Car Technology List” By Green Car Journal

Monday, February 11th, 2013

2013 Honda Accord with ECO AssistHonda’s ECO Assist™, an innovative and interactive fuel-saving coaching technology was just named to Green Car Journal’s Top 10 Green Car Technology List for 2013. ECO Assist, short for Ecological Drive Assist System”, is available on some of our most popular Honda models, including the 2013 Honda Accord, Civic, and CR-V.

ECO Assist will help you get more miles from each fill-up with “coaching” lights that illuminate in the instrument panel. One color signifies inefficient driving, while another color indicates a more efficient driving style is being used. The color changes gradually in response to overall driving style. Stay in the green and you can save more green at the gas station.

Combine the visual “coaching” guides with the ECON mode and a very efficient driver can improve fuel economy as much as 10%. ECON mode limits the throttle slightly, alters cruise control to react more slowly to speed changes and makes the air conditioning less sensitive to temperature variations.

Honda ECO Assist on Accord, Civic and CR-V

“Honda developed the driver guidance and driver feedback functions of ECO Assist to help drivers improve their fuel economy, and in turn, to also benefit our environment,” said Art St. Cyr, vice president of product planning and logistics at American Honda. “The visual nature of the technology is intended to help drivers improve their efficient driving skills by making it a more fun and rewarding experience.”

Two Models From Edmund’s Used Car Best Bets List Are At Honda Dealership Near Jackson

Thursday, December 27th, 2012
Be Sociable, Share!

Used vehicle sales are on the upsurge as shoppers are turning to more affordable and reliable alternatives to premium new vehicles. A recent list from Edmond’s indicates your leading Honda dealer near Jackson has two of the best bets.

The Patty Peck Honda dealership near Jackson is not just a top new car dealer in the area, but it is also one of the best sources for used cars. Shoppers who don’t know how reliable used Honda models are can take a tip from Edmond’s

The list of “2012 Used Car Best Bets” is made up of vehicles that fit reliability, safety, value, and availability criteria. A Honda dealership in the Jackson area may not have vehicles later than 2005 due to high miles and may not have ones newer than 2012 because the depreciated value is still too high for used car buyers. That is why only models from 05-10 are on the list.

The CR-V and Odyssey Make Edmond’s ‘2012 Used Best Bets’ List

The Honda CRV made the list due to its efficient use of space and fuel. This SUV has plenty of passenger and cargo room without going into the large SUV category. Its inline 4 cylinder engine provides enough power while not guzzling fuel like other SUVs. If shoppers act quickly, Patty Peck Honda near Jackson can get them into one of the 2007 or 2010 models that recently arrived on the lot.

Those with a large family may want to consider a used minivan, and that is where the Odyssey reigns supreme. This vehicle boasts one of the most powerful V6 engines in its segment, so it can haul several passengers and cargo with no problem. The huge interior provides plenty of space for all passengers, and the hideaway third-row seat makes for even more cargo room when needed.

Edmond’s is a highly respected and credible outlet for automobile enthusiasts, and Patty Peck Honda is proud to offer vehicles on its “Best Bets” lists. For more information on inventory at this used Honda dealership near Jackson please call 888-902-1166 or visit http://www.pattypeckhonda.com/used-vehicles.

Honda CR-V’s Back-Up Camera, How It Works [Video]

Tuesday, August 21st, 2012
Be Sociable, Share!

All 2012 Honda CR-V‘s are equipped with a multi-angle rearview back-up camera display to help the driver navigate while backing up. When the CR-V is placed in reverse, an image appears on the i-MID screen; on models with navigation, the image appears on the navigation screen. This safety feature is especially handy when backing out of a parking space or driveway.

Ted Buck, one of our Honda Certified Sales Consultants at Patty Peck Honda helped us put together this video to demonstrate how this feature works.

This is how it works:

  • When you shift into Reverse (R), a real-time image of the area behind your vehicle is shown in the multi-information display.
  • Yellow parking guide lines also appear to help you judge distance.
  • The rearview display turns off when you shift out of Reverse.

In addition to standard view, the driver can select wide-angle or overhead views. As you can see in the video, changing views is easily done by using the Audio Select Switch or the TouchPanel on CR-V models equipped with a navigation screen.

To make it easier for the driver to judge distance, solid yellow on-screen guidelines indicate the vehicle’s width and a dotted yellow line shows the driver how close they are to an object behind them.

2012 Honda CR-V – How To Pair Your Bluetooth [VIDEO]

Wednesday, August 15th, 2012
Be Sociable, Share!

See how easy it is to pair your phone to the 2012 Honda CR-V. All CR-V’s are now standard with Bluetooth HandsfreeLink wireless technology allowing the driver to keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. Honda has made the pairing process easy with voice guidance, taking you quickly through the process. Other HandsFreeLink improvements on non Navi models for the 2012 Honda CR-V include:

  • Auto import of phonebook and call history
  • A dedicated phone button on the audio control panel
  • Six speed dials linked to radio pre-set keys

We asked Steve Hawkins, a Honda Council of Sales Leader to demonstrate how to pair a smart phone to the All New 2012 Honda CR-V.

Bluetooth Audio On The CR-V

Bluetooth audio allows you to play music through the vehicle’s audio system using a Bluetooth phone that supports the necessary profiles. Paired phones such as the iPhone, Galaxy or many other smart phones with a compatible music player, can stream music files wirelessly through the CR-V’s audio system.

It will appear as an auxiliary choice, indicated by a big bluetooth logo among the sources available in the iMid audio display, and can be selected with the source button.

For safety reasons HandsfreeLink has some restrictions on what can be done manually while the CR-V is moving. Those operations will be shaded in the iMid display encouraging drivers to either stop their vehicles or use voice recognition when performing some handsfree link functions.

Find out which phones will work with the 2012 Honda CR-V’s Bluetooth HandsfreeLink – Bluetooth HandsFreeLink Compatible Phone

2012 Honda CR-V Owner Review

Saturday, July 14th, 2012
Be Sociable, Share!

Rita and Danny ChandlerWe asked Danny R. Chandler, a self-proclaimed Honda enthusiast, to review their new 2012 Honda CR-V EX. Here is what he said:

Honda has a reputation for producing vehicles that will last well past the final payment. I believe the latest version of the CRV will protect that reputation. There are 3 trim levels-LX, EX, and EX-L (with available navigation), I opted for the EX.

Having studied Honda’s since 1978, and been an owner since 1986. I come to the table with high expectations. I am not easily impressed…Okay, I am impressed with the new 2012 Honda CR-V.

Power. It comes with a 180 horsepower engine. Although it is only available in a 4 cylinder, there is probably enough power to get close to the 140 mph on the dash, although I would not recommend trying it.

Comfort. It rides like a full-sized sedan, standard with 17” tires. There is plenty of room for 4 average sized adults, with rear folding seats for packing up and heading out for the weekend. It is very agile for moving in and out of traffic in the city, and keeping up with the big dawgs on the highway.

Economics meets Ergonomics. The cost of ownership should be very reasonable, particularly with the EPA estimated 23/ 31. Who knows what the cost of a gallon of petro will be 5 years from now. Either way, the CRV is ready. The front dash is much improved over previous versions. Bluetooth enabled for hands-free communication. USB connection and power outlet inside the center console. Rear camera for backing. Steering wheel controls for a number of features. Truth is, some of the improvements that are either standard or available options are not new technologies, although they are new to the CRV lineup. These do add prestige to a vehicle with a solid reputation, good customer loyalty, and steady resale value.

I am a natural critic. So I do have a proclivity for finding something I wanted that was not there, or that I just don’t like. I expected the EX trim to have at least a power driver’s seat and 6 disc CD player. It is missing, although standard on the EX-L. With bluetooth audio I may find I won’t even miss a 6 disc player.

At the end of the day, any owner should feel Comfortable, as he or she Runs about the city or highways, in this Vehicle. Putting all those pieces together, I introduce to some and present to others, the 2012 Honda CRV. Enjoy the ride.

3 Honda’s Chosen “Best Family Cars Of 2012″ By Parents Magazine, Edmunds.com

Parents Magazine and Edmunds.com announced their selections for the Best Family Cars of 2012. Much thought was taken into account as to what features, quality and practicality make up an excellent family car. Top consideration by the editors was safety, requiring all vehicles to be equipped with antilock brakes, electronic stability control, and a minimum of six air bags. Other standards considered were fuel economy, kid-friendly features, and overall value.

Three Honda models made the list, including the 2012 Civic Hybrid, 2012 CR-V, and 2012 Odyssey. Below are the categories that each Honda was selected with editor’s comments and a list of editors’ favorite features.

Large Vehicles: Honda Odyssey

Editors’ Comments: “You’d expect a stable ride from a vehicle of this heft, but the Odyssey somehow manages to corner like a midsize car. It has 2012 Honda Odysseyendless storage compartments and second-row captain’s chairs that slide forward (to get closer to you) and sideways (to put extra real estate between siblings or make room for three car seats in the row). An optional middle seat in the second row transforms into a cool beverage and snack tray when no one’s using it. you can stow the third-row seats with a simple tug, yielding room for a weeklong summer vacay – and then some.”

Favorite Features: Available power tailgate, IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK designation, available rearview camera, 8-passenger capacity, 5-car- seat capacity

Research the 2012 Honda Odyssey

High-Mileage Cars: Honda Civic Hybrid

Editors’ Comments: “The redesigned Civic Hybrid is a pleasure to drive and is sleek inside and out. A cool digital readout lets you display mileage, 2012 Civic Hybridspeed, or radio stations. And the loaded version, with on- board navigation and leather seats, clocks in at under $27,000, making it among the most affordable full-feature hybrids.”

Favorite Features: Standard steering-wheel audio controls, IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK designation, standard USB jack, standard Bluetooth capability, 5-passenger capacity, 2-car-seat capacity.

Research the 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid

Crossover: Honda CR-V

Editors’ Comments: “The cabin of this redesigned crossover is reminiscent of a minivan, with a slew of cup holders and a gear shifter situated on the

2012 Honda CR-Vdashboard. Standard features include a backup camera, a rear armrest to keep warring siblings apart, and rear seats that fold flat with a single touch. Fortunately, two things that didn’t change are the CR-V’s carlike feel and superb handling.”

Favorite Features: Standard steering-wheel audio controls, all-wheel- drive availability, IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK designation, standard USB jack, standard Bluetooth capability, 5-passenger capacity, 2-car- seat capacity.
