The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named the 2012 Odyssey a "2012 Top Safety Pick," based on more stringent standards implemented in 2010. The Odyssey received top ratings in each category including frontal offset, side impact and rear impact crash safety tests and the new roof-strength test. Edmunds calls the Honda Odyssey the drives mini-van "closest thing to an eight-passenger sport sedan," and as you can see in the video above this is the van of choice. 2011 Honda Odyssey is a winner of an Edmunds' Inside Line Editors' Most Wanted award for 2011. The editors at Edmunds concluded the Odyssey's road manners "will win the heart of any car guy-turned-family man."
Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com has named the 2011 Honda Odyssey the "Best Redesigned Vehicle for 2011". The kbb.com editors praised the Odyssey engineers and designers for successfully tackling the difficult task of improving an already very successful, hot-selling model that is widely regarded as the pinnacle of its class.
"The 2011 Honda Odyssey improves on its predecessor in every way imaginable, offering a better-looking, more contemporary exterior design, a sumptuous interior stuffed with innovative features, and class-leading fuel economy," said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com. "Its safety, refinement, resale value and trouble-free nature are combined with a surprising level of fun-to-drive, so it is not difficult to see why Honda refers to the 2011 Odyssey as the 'ultimate in family transportation.'"

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) toughened up its crash-saftey tests for 2011, and the Odyssey passed with flying colors. In fact, the Odyssey earned 5-stars in each seating position of all three crash-safety tests, as well as earning a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score*
Cars.com has named the all-new 2011 Odyssey this year's "Family Car of the Year." The editors evaluated every aspect of what families need and want in a vehicle and concluded that "Honda took a gamble this year to jump-start the evolution of the minivan, and it's paying off.
