The kbb.com editors praised the Odyssey engineers and designers for successfully tackling the difficult task of improving an already very successful, hot-selling model that is widely regarded as the pinnacle of its class.
"The 2011 Honda Odyssey improves on its predecessor in every way imaginable, offering a better-looking, more contemporary exterior design, a sumptuous interior stuffed with innovative features, and class-leading fuel economy," said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com. "Its safety, refinement, resale value and trouble-free nature are combined with a surprising level of fun-to-drive, so it is not difficult to see why Honda refers to the 2011 Odyssey as the 'ultimate in family transportation.'"
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) toughened up its crash-saftey tests for 2011, and the Odyssey passed with flying colors. In fact, the Odyssey earned 5-stars in each seating position of all three crash-safety tests, as well as earning a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score*
Cars.com has named the all-new 2011 Odyssey this year's "Family Car of the Year." The editors evaluated every aspect of what families need and want in a vehicle and concluded that "Honda took a gamble this year to jump-start the evolution of the minivan, and it's paying off. The Odyssey received a complete makeover—minivan style—resulting in a sleeker, sportier, more modern minivan while raising the bar on flexibility and functionality."
