Honda intelligent all-wheel drive systems
Intelligent Variable Torque Management™ (i-VTM4™) AWD System | Dubbed by Honda as the “the most sophisticated and technologically advanced all-wheel-drive system offered in a mainstream, three-row SUV,” the i-VTM4™ system works by dynamically and variably sensing the amount of torque needed by each axle, sending power accordingly. The i-VTM4™ system also distributes power to the wheels to either the right or left wheels, depending on traction sensing at each wheel. The system is truly intelligent, increasing both safety and efficiency.
Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System™ | The Honda Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System™ works by using sensors at the rear axle. Upon detecting a loss of traction at the back wheels, the system will begin diverting power to the rear wheels. Although not as dynamic as the i-VTM4™ system, this setup is perfect for compact to midsize SUVs and crossovers.
