2012 Honda Civic HF, Taking Fuel Efficiency To A Higher Level
The Civic HF is a value-conscious sedan with the best highway fuel economy rating for a conventional, gasoline-only powered vehicle with an automatic transmission. All this with out the cost of Hybrid techology.
So how did Honda do this? The higher numbers are achieved through the use of light weight and aerodynamic 15" alloy wheels as well as tires with lower rolling resistance, 21% lower then the previous generation Civic. In addition, several aerodynamic enhancements have been used including a deckled spoiler and even more drag reducing panels beneath the car. As a result, the coefficient of drag has been further reduced.
The HF Civic is available with the smooth shifting 5 speed automatic transmission. Positioned between the Civic LX and Civic EX, it is equipped with:
- 5-speed automatic transmission
- Unique 15-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels
- Low rolling-resistance P195/65 R15 all-season tires
- Aerodynamic enhancements under the body
- Exclusive decklid spoiler
The Civic HF Sedan is EPA rated for 41 miles per gallon(2) on the highway – an additional 5 percent above a similarly equipped Civic Sedan's 39 miles per gallon on the highway.

(1)For optimal tire wear and performance, tire pressure should be checked regularly with a gauge. Do not rely solely on the monitor system. Please see your Honda dealer for details.
(2) Based on 2012 EPA mileage estimates. Use for comparison purposes only. Do not compare to models before 2008. Your actual mileage will vary depending on how you drive and maintain your vehicle.
