Many Madison-area drivers have asked us, “What is Honda Sensing®?” The simplest answer is that Honda Sensing® is a suite of safety and driver-assist systems that comes standard on many new Honda models. A 2022 Honda press release noted that “Honda Sensing is now standard or available on all new Honda models, found on nearly 5 million Honda vehicles on U.S. roads today.” which is pretty impressive. And certainly good news for Honda drivers and passengers.
Learn more about what is the Honda Sensing® system and the available Honda Sensing® models in this guide from Patty Peck Honda.
The safety technologies that are part of the Honda Sensing® suite are designed to enhance driver awareness on Brandon roads, as well as to help prevent potential collisions. What does Honda Sensing® include?
Some features may vary by model.
What if you don’t want to use these features all the time? We understand that there may be times when you don’t want or need certain Honda Sensing® features. If you wish to deactivate any of the features, you’ll find that it is quite easy to do so. For example, if you want to turn off LKS, just push the MAIN button on the steering wheel until the indicators in the instrument cluster are gone
You can also configure the Honda Sensing® settings on the optional central touchscreen. Just tap “Settings,” “Vehicle Settings,” and then “Drive Assist Setup.” This allows you to change distance warnings for CMBS™, RDM warnings, and more.
If you find that you need help modifying or turning off Honda Sensing®, schedule a service appointment at Patty Peck Honda, and our certified technicians will be happy to assist you.
Wondering if Honda Sensing® can be added to your vehicle by the dealer? Unfortunately, the answer is no. The Honda Sensing® package can only be installed when the vehicle is assembled in the factory. The detailed integration of the Honda Sensing® systems includes installing radar, steering wheel controls, and a wide array of sensors. If a dealership were to add Honda Sensing®, the vehicle would essentially have to be dismantled and rebuilt.
The good news is that there are many Honda Sensing® models currently available.
