The Insights Powertrain

The 2020 Honda Insight is powered by the latest generation of Honda’s two-motor hybrid system, featuring a 1.5-liter Atkinson-cycle engine, for quick responsiveness and a dynamic driving experience.

The Insight’s three power modes enable the car to operate in the most fuel-efficient mode for the conditions. The Power-flow indicators in the Driver Information Interface or, if equipped, the Display Audio, will keep the driver apprised of which mode is in use.

• EV Drive, the Insight is propelled solely by its electric motor and the lithium-ion battery pack. Best used for short distances.
• Hybrid Drive automatically kicks inWhen the battery runs low, the Insight automatically switches to Hybrid Drive and the engine starts to power the generator, which in turn supplies the drive motor with electricity.
• In Engine Drive, a clutch engages to mechanically link the engine to the front drive wheels at highway speeds.

This powerful sedan can seat five passengers comfortably, and you’ll have a choice of seven available color options to make sure you stand out on Jackson roads. LED headlights and taillights make an impression, and a spacious cabin with available leather-trim will keep you riding in style. When you opt for the Touring trim, you can also recline in standard heated front seats and bask in the natural light provided by your one-touch power moonroof.
