Whats New: The 2012 Honda Pilot

The 2012 Honda Pilot eight-passenger SUV has a new, upscale look from the inside out. Enhancements were made to improve appearance, comfort and convenience, fuel economy, and safety. It will also look great in your driveway too.

Colors available this year are still some of the Pilots most popular including Alabaster Silver Metallic, Bali Blue Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Dark Cherry Pearl, Polished Metal Metallic, Taffeta White, White Diamond Pearl, new this year are Dark Amber Metallic and new Glacier White (Pilot Touring).

Exterior appearance and convenience enhancements:

All-new front fascia, grille and headlights
New front bumper with aerodynamic improvements
Lighter rear cargo lid
New 18-inch aluminum wheels (17-inch styled steel on Pilot LX)
Interior appearance and convenience enhancements:

Upgraded interior materials and revised instrument panel with new center stack layout
All audio systems feature increased power
New 2-GB CD library (replaces 6-disc CD Changer)
Noise reduction enhancements:

Acoustic windshield glass (previously exclusive to Pilot EX-L and Touring)
Revised rear sub-frame mounts
Enhanced body seals
Pillar separators added and improved
Added insulation
Fuel economy enhancements: Fuel economy improved EPA-estimated(1) fuel economy (+1 mpg City/+2 mpg Highway/+2 mpg Combined)

New lower rolling resistance tires
New friction reduction techniques applied to the engine
New variable displacement steering pump
New front and rear brake strakes to reduce drag
Safety enhancements:

Reinforced roof can now withstand over four times body weight, targeted to receive “Top Safety Pick” rating from insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)
Taller head restraints in the second and third rows to help reduce the likelihood of whiplash
Non-Navigation models get the all new intelligent Multi-Information display (i-MID) system

Pilot LX adds:

AAC audio file playback from data discs to the CD player
Pilot EX adds or replaces:

18-inch aluminum wheels and P235/60R18 all-season tires
Bluetooth HandsFreeLink and Bluetooth audio streaming
2 GB CD Library (CD-L)
Pilot EX-L adds or replaces:

Power tailgate
Intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID) with QVGA resolution (includes backup camera display, album artwork display and user-loadable wallpaper function)
Rearview camera on 8″ WQVGA (Wide quarter Video Graphics Array) screen with guidelines
