Diabetes Foundation of MS “Car For A Cure” Honda Civic Winner
The Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi and Patty Peck Honda have teamed up for the past 25 years to help drive away diabetes in Mississippi. The annual Patty Peck Honda “Car for a Cure” Raffle drawing was held on Thursday, April 19, 2012, during the Ultimate Champagne Brunch and Fashion Show. This year Robert Johnson of Jackson was the lucky winner of this new 2012 Honda Civic LX Coupe.
The Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi is the state’s only nonprofit health organization that provides diabetes information, patient services and advocacy, and its mission is to provide hope through programs, services and research to the 346,500 Mississippians with diabetes. Every dollar raised by the DFM stays in the state to support these efforts. In addition, 89 cents of every dollar raised goes toward the organization’s charitable purposes. For this reason, the DFM received the coveted, Charity Navigator four-star rating- the highest rating awarded to nonprofit organizations, a title given to only 25 percent of all charities. The DFM is the one diabetes organization totally dedicated to all Mississippians– from children to seniors– who live with diabetes.
