Parents And Kids Magazine “Christmas Fest,” a Gift from Patty Peck Honda

December 1st, 2011 by

On December 8, 9 and 10 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, Parents & Kids Magazine will host Christmas Fest. Patty Peck Honda’s gift to Parents & Kids Magazine will be an exciting, fun-filled holiday event!

What will you be able to find at Christmas Fest?

Choirs sing Christmas carols – Twenty different choirs from local area churches, schools, and community groups are invited to sing every half hour outside during the event.

Ensembles, storytelling, and more… – From hand bells to string ensembles to Rudolf to puppet shows, approximately 10 groups and performers will entertain audiences.

Santa Portraits – Families will be able to snap photos with Santa!

Polar Post Office – Drop off letters for delivery to Santa Claus! Parents may elect to order customized reply letters to be mailed from the “North Pole” later in the month. Santa’s helpers will help kids write letters to Santa at the Polar Post Office.

Giveaways:

–Parents will be given one gift bag per family that contains information our sponsors wish to share with families.

–Children will be given Christmas Wikki Stix, glow bracelets, jingle necklaces, Christmas stickers, temporary tattoos, coloring books and activity books.

–Some sponsors will have booths to hand out goodies, as well.

Christmas Lights – A beautiful pathway of trees and shrubbery will be decorated with hundreds of tiny lights. The outside area of the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science becomes an enchanted, magical wonderland of Christmas lights.

Visitors are delighted with a number of lighted sculptures of Christmas trees, stars, and reindeer. Festive green “Christmas Alligators” tie in the venue to the event, keeping the focus on Mississippi outdoors. All can experience a “snow shower” of Blisslights, a new energy-efficient lighting effect unlike any seen in Mississippi.

Train Ride – A Trackless Train takes kids (and adults, too!) on a ride.

Free Hot Apple Cider – Refreshments, including free hot apple cider, will be served.

Only $1 for entry! – Christmas Fest has an entry of $1 per person or $5 max per family. Although everything from the hot apple cider to the rides is free, Backyard Burgers will grill out “Santa Sliders” for purchase and the Museum will have drinks to buy since 5-8pm is prime meal time for many children.

Parents & Kids Magazine believes Christmas is not what you get and you give. Christmas is the spirit you live.

Come bring your family to walk around outdoors, see bright lights, hear some music and enjoy being together. Parents & Kids Magazine wants to create a Christmas experience. Join them in sharing this gift with our community. Patty Peck Honda is thrilled for this family-oriented, joyful event and we hope
