Patty Peck Honda and Cure Sickle Cell Foundation are getting together to give a voice to sickle cell disease. By sponsoring this event, we are supporting efforts to help educate, advocate and raise awareness. September is Sickle Cell Awareness Month and on Sunday, September 26th they will be hosting their 5th annual Sickle Cell Awareness Walk.

The walk is a non-competitive 5K (3.1 miles) walk/run/ride for people of all ages and fitness levels. On-site registration for the walk will begin at 3pm. However, pre-registration is strongly encouraged. The walk will start at 4pm at the Walter Payton Recreation & Wellness Center, located on the campus of Jackson State University.

Those who have passed away of sickle cell disease will be honored with a special balloon release and the walk will conclude with a tailgate party. Proceeds will benefit Mississippi families that suffer from sickle cell disease. Patty Peck Honda wants you to walk a path toward a cure.
