When the engine works with standard Two-Wheel Drive (2WD) this SUV can tow up to 3,500 pounds, but when equipped with available All-Wheel Drive (AWD), the Pilot’s maximum tow rating is increased to 5,000-pounds.
Depending on your needs, a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds is enough to satisfy many drivers. If you’re hauling heavy equipment, however, we suggest opting for AWD to boost your Pilot model’s towing capacity to 5,000 pounds. The robust AWD system works to optimize traction when encountering rough terrain or adverse weather conditions and an available Intelligent Traction Management system helps to improve handling across snow, mud, and sand.
Besides providing immense towing power for your heavy gear, the Pilot also offers a significant amount of interior space to accommodate your everyday belongings. The standard storage area behind the third-row seat measures 18.6 cubic feet, and that number increases all the way up to 48.5 cubic feet when the third-row seat is folded flat. In total, the Pilot offers up to 87 cubic feet of space when both rear rows of seating are folded down.
