What is Honda LaneWatch™?

The vehicles in the new Honda lineup come equipped with some of the most advanced safety features available. From the Honda Sensing® safety suite to additional driver assist technologies, you can count on these innovative systems to enhance driver awareness and help you avoid a collision on the roads in and around Madison. One of the available safety technologies you’ll find offered on the 2022 Honda HR-V and many 2021 and later Honda models is Honda LaneWatch™. So, what is Honda LaneWatch™, and what does it do? How Does Honda LaneWatch™ Work?

How does Honda LaneWatch™ work? Using a camera installed below the right passenger-side mirror, Honda LaneWatch™ relays an image of the area on the right side of the vehicle to the central display screen. Similar to a blind spot monitoring system, LaneWatch™ makes it easier and safer for you to change lanes and make turns. It’s important to note that Honda LaneWatch™ is being phased out in favor of the Blind Spot Information System (BSI) with Cross Traffic Monitor, which employs a pair of sensors on each rear corner of your Honda that can detect a vehicle in an adjacent lane. Note that all safety and driver assist systems are intended to enhance your safety and are not a substitute for safe driving practices.

How to Use Honda LaneWatch™

Whenever you use the right turn signal, the Honda LaneWatch™ camera automatically powers on and you will see a live video feed of your blind zone on your Honda touchscreen. You can switch LaneWatch™ on or off by pressing the button on the end of the turn signal lever. If you’d like to change the LaneWatch™ settings, just follow these steps:

• On the HOME screen, select Settings
• Choose Camera
• Choose LaneWatch™
• Make any changes that you prefer
• Press BACK to exit

Which Vehicles Have Honda LaneWatch™?

The only 2022 model at this point that offers Honda LaneWatch™ is the Honda HR-V. Some of the 2021 and 2020 Honda vehicles that are available with Honda LaneWatch™ include:

• Honda Civic
• Honda Clarity 
• Honda Fit
• Honda Ridgeline
• Honda Insight
