What are My Electric Car Charging Options?

1. Domestic Outlet Home Charging (Regular Outlet): A normal grounded (three-prong) 110V/120V charging outlet (Level 1 Charging) will usually take around 24 hours or more for a full charge. Many Madison-area drivers will find recharging overnight to be the most convenient method.
2. Installed Brand-Approved Domestic Charging: A Level 2 Charging setup will most likely have to be professionally installed. Level 2 charging uses rapid (usually 240V+) chargers typically made specifically for your brand of car. Home DC fast chargers (as opposed to AC ones) can usually give you up to an 80% charge in 30 minutes.
3. Public Charging: You may find public EV chargers in the Brandon area at parking garages, malls, hotels, and even apartment buildings. These charging stations vary in type and speed, but often provide Level 2 or Level 3 charging speeds for greater convenience. Some public charging stations even offer renewable energy charging with solar panels or wind turbines.
